I use a holistic approach to educational therapy and address the whole person first. I spent 10 years in the classroom and over 6 years in private practice that has given me the training and insight to understand the gap in learning. So what I bring is a progressive perspective where I emphasize developing the mindset as the kickoff point to building skills. My method is based on improving six aspects of our lives: mindset, daily habits, productivity, goals, self-advocacy, and metacognition.

During my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students who have a wide range of educational challenges. Throughout this time, I found my passion has been rooted in providing researched-based intervention for children diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia, as well as other learning differences. The learning process can be a struggle for many students taught with conventional whole-word reading teaching methods, which rely more on rote memorization and where the connections among words are valued over the letter sounds within those words. In structured literacy, however, instruction is explicit, systematic, and diagnostic. This evidence-based approach is rooted in sound-symbol association, as well as phonemic and phonological awareness, focusing on the sounds in words, which are represented by letters, or groups of letters, in the alphabet. This is especially important for both early, and struggling, readers. As research shows, most students thrive when provided with a multi-sensory, structured language approach, tailored to bridge their learning gaps and master skills in decoding, encoding, writing, and comprehension to acquire grade-level foundational skills and fluency.
